💰 General Questions
Is DropFi Wallet free to use?
Yes! DropFi is completely free to download and use. You only pay the standard XRP Ledger network fees (typically 0.00001 XRP per transaction).
What's the difference between DropFi and DropFi?
They're the same wallet! "DropFi Wallet" is the Chrome extension name, while "DropFi Wallet" is used for mobile apps. Both share the same features and security.
Can I use DropFi on multiple devices?
Yes, but each installation is independent. Use the same recovery phrase to access your wallet on multiple devices. Note: Settings and contacts don't sync between devices.
What is the 10 XRP minimum balance?
This is an XRP Ledger requirement to prevent spam. Every wallet must maintain at least 10 XRP, plus 2 XRP for each trust line or NFT. This reserve belongs to you but cannot be withdrawn.

🔐 Security Questions
Can DropFi access my funds?
No. Your private keys are encrypted and stored locally on your device. We never have access to your keys or funds.
What if I lose my recovery phrase?
Unfortunately, your wallet cannot be recovered without your backup phrase. This is why we emphasize creating multiple secure backups. There's no "forgot password" option in decentralized wallets.
Is biometric data stored anywhere?
No. Biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint) is handled entirely by your device's secure enclave. DropFi never sees or stores your biometric data.
What happens if DropFi shuts down?
Your funds remain safe! Since your keys are stored locally, you can always import your wallet into any other XRPL-compatible wallet using your recovery phrase.
How secure is the browser extension?
Very secure! We use:
- Manifest V3 (latest Chrome security standard)
- Encrypted local storage
- Isolated content scripts
- No external dependencies
💸 Transaction Questions
Why did my transaction fail?
Common reasons:
- Insufficient XRP (remember the reserve requirement)
- Invalid destination address
- Missing required destination tag (for exchanges)
- Network connectivity issues
Can I cancel a transaction?
No. Once submitted to the XRP Ledger, transactions cannot be cancelled or reversed. Always double-check before sending!
How fast are transactions?
XRP Ledger transactions typically confirm in 3-5 seconds. This is much faster than Bitcoin (10+ minutes) or Ethereum (15+ seconds).
Why does my token show no USD value?
Not all tokens have price feeds available. The value might still exist but isn't displayed. Check XRPL explorers for more information.
What are destination tags?
Some exchanges use a single XRP address for all users and require destination tags (numbers) to identify your specific deposit. Always include the tag when sending to exchanges!
📱 Platform-Specific Questions
Can the mobile app connect to websites?
No, the mobile app uses an in-app browser for DApps. Only the Chrome extension can inject window.xrpl into regular websites.
Why no Firefox support?
Firefox has different extension APIs. We're working on Firefox support - join our Discord for updates!
Can I export my transaction history?
Currently, you can view your full history in the app. Export functionality is on our roadmap.
Does the extension work in Brave/Edge?
Yes! Any Chromium-based browser that supports Manifest V3 extensions will work.
🔧 Technical Questions
What networks are supported?
- Mainnet (real transactions)
- Testnet (for testing with free XRP)
- Devnet (for developers)
Can I add custom RPC nodes?
Not currently. DropFi uses reliable, high-performance nodes. Custom RPC support may be added based on user demand.
What's the transaction fee?
The base fee is 0.00001 XRP (10 drops). During high network activity, fees may increase slightly but remain fractions of a cent.
How do trust lines work?
Trust lines allow you to hold tokens issued by others. Each trust line requires a 2 XRP reserve. Only create trust lines for reputable issuers!
🆘 Troubleshooting Questions
Extension won't open
Try these steps:
- Update Chrome to the latest version
- Disable other wallet extensions temporarily
- Clear Chrome cache
- Reinstall DropFi
Biometrics stopped working (mobile)
- Check your device's biometric settings
- Re-enable in DropFi settings
- Try using PIN as backup
- Update your device OS
"Insufficient XRP for reserve" error
You need:
- 10 XRP base reserve
- +2 XRP per trust line
- +2 XRP per NFT
- +0.00001 XRP for the transaction fee
Can't connect to DApp
- Refresh the DApp page
- Check you're on the correct network
- Clear site permissions and reconnect
- Try in a new browser tab
