Installation Guide

📋 Requirements

Before installing, ensure you have:

  • ✅ Google Chrome (version 88 or higher)
  • ✅ Stable internet connection
  • ✅ 50MB free storage space

🚀 Installation Steps

Step 1: Visit Chrome Web Store

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Visit the Chrome Web Store
  3. Search for "DropFi Wallet"
  4. Look for our official extension with the DropFi logo

⚠️ Security Tip: Always verify the publisher name "DropFi" to ensure you're installing the official extension.

Step 2: Add to Chrome

  1. Click the "Add to Chrome" button
  2. Review the permissions:
    • Storage (to save your encrypted wallet)
    • Active tab (to inject window.xrpl)
    • Web navigation (for DApp connections)
  3. Click "Add Extension" to confirm

Step 3: Pin the Extension

For easy access:

  1. Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome toolbar
  2. Find DropFi Wallet in the list
  3. Click the pin icon to keep it visible

Step 4: Initial Setup

  1. Click the DropFi icon in your toolbar
  2. You'll see the welcome screen
  3. Choose one of these options:
    • Create New Wallet - Start fresh
    • Import Wallet - Use existing seed

✅ Verify Installation

Check Extension Status

  1. Click the DropFi icon
  2. You should see the welcome screen
  3. Check for the version number at bottom

Test Browser Integration

  1. Open Chrome DevTools (F12)
  2. Type window.xrpl in console
  3. You should see the xrpl object

🔧 Troubleshooting

Extension Not Appearing

  • Restart Chrome completely
  • Check chrome://extensions for errors
  • Ensure extension is enabled

Can't Click Extension

  • Check if extension is disabled
  • Try unpinning and re-pinning
  • Clear Chrome cache

Installation Failed

  • Check Chrome version (chrome://version)
  • Disable conflicting extensions
  • Try incognito mode installation

Verify Official Extension

Check Permissions

The extension only requests necessary permissions:

  • ✅ Storage - For encrypted wallet data
  • ✅ Tabs - For DApp integration
  • ✅ Active Tab - For current page access
  • ❌ No browsing history access
  • ❌ No personal data collection

🚫 Common Issues

"Manifest Version" Error

  • Update Chrome to latest version
  • DropFi uses Manifest V3 (modern standard)

"Corrupted Extension" Warning

  • Re-download from official store
  • Never install from third-party sites
  • Report to security@dropfi.app

Conflicts with Other Wallets

  • DropFi works alongside other wallets
  • DApps will show wallet selection
  • No need to disable other extensions
